Installation

One command installs the skills into any project, from the released `@netlify/skills` package:

bash
npx @netlify/skills@latest add --all

It writes the skills into the agent directory already in the project (.claude/, .agents/, or .grok/) and never guesses: with none, or more than one, it asks for --agent.

| Agent | --agent | Skills directory | |---|---|---| | Claude Code | claude-code | .claude/skills/ | | Cursor | cursor | .agents/skills/ | | Codex | codex | .agents/skills/ | | Gemini CLI | gemini-cli | .agents/skills/ | | GitHub Copilot, VS Code | github-copilot | .agents/skills/ | | Grok Build | grok | .grok/skills/ | | Anything else | | --dest <dir> |

Each directory is the project-level skills location in that agent's own docs: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, and Grok. Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, and Copilot all read the shared .agents/skills/. The generated .cursor/rules/ files and the codex/AGENTS.md router under Other ways to install are the older formats for those two agents; they still work, but they are not what add writes.

add netlify-functions installs one skill, check reports what is installed and whether it is current, and update brings it up to date. See Install skills and keep them current.
